I would like to begin by saying how sorry I am that I am unable to be their with you all for Christmas Lunch this year.
I would like to thank Dr Wojtulewski his wife and Gwyneth for the support they have given to Rascals Summer Garden Parties and Christmas Lunches, also to thank Wendy Specialist Nurse and Julian Biologics Nurse From Rheumatology Eastbourne District General, To Sue, and Kathy from Firwood House for the help and support they have given us at our meetings over the last year.
Lastly and most importantly to Thank you the Members, Family, and Friends without all of you their would be no Rascals.
This year has been an exceptional year with 18 new members joining making the total of 81 members. To think when this group started back 15 years ago with only a handful of members and it has now grown to what it is today.
This year has brought many interesting events.
We had Katy’s Quiz’s, Tina’s Bingo, and speakers. The Summer Outing we went to the Hop Farm, The Summer Lunch was at Deanland’s, which was enjoyed by Members and not forgetting our 10th Garden Party which was a huge success taking a massive £910. I would like to thank Jennifer and Roland for lending us their Garden for those 10 years.
Then in September we had the Seminar which was put on by the Rheumatology Department which every one found most interesting.
On our Social outings we have enjoyed coffee and cakes Lunches and Cream Teas all of which have helped people to mix and enjoy these times with friends with much talking and laughing and that is what Rascals is all about, for a few hours people tend to forget their problems.
It now brings me to say a Thank You to the committee for their hard work and support, also to Thank Alison for remembering everyone’s Birthdays by sending out cards,, and to thank everyone who has made tea and helped clear up.
Just a reminder the AGM is 15th January 2009 at William Daley.
The Committee have all agreed to stand again that is if you will have us.
