I would like to say Hello to every one and I hope you have all enjoyed the Christmas Lunch. I would also like to say a Big thank you to Katy for organising it all. On Behalf of the Committee we would like to Welcome our President Dr and Mrs Wojtulewski, and I would like to congratulate and introduce you to our New Specialist Nurse Wendy Inman attached to the Rheumatology team at Eastboune District General, Sue Occupational Therapist attached to Firwood House and also her colleague Kathy who is Rehab Support Officer who have been attending our meetings and helping people with hand splinting problems and not forgetting Gwyneth who was our Specialist Nurse.
It is wonderful to see so many of you. old and new members Family and Friends, all who have been so supportive throughout the years, to keep this being such a successful group, We Thank you.
This year again has been a great success with more new members joining, and it is so rewarding to have new members come up and say Thank you, and how they have looked forward to the meetings and social events . That is what makes all the planning and hard work that goes in to running s of Rascals worthwhile and I would like to give thanks to all the Committee for that.
This year Hydrotherapy has been in great demand
This year we have been able to pay out for members out of club funds for the Summer Lunch which was at The Wheatsheaf Coodon. The outing to Pashley Manor and the Christmas Lunch. We hope it will be possible to be able to offer some treats again for next year.
All of the social events have been much enjoyed. The garden party was a huge success with many people attending. Jennifer did a grand job with the catering Clive and Roy caused much laughter with the Auction. Also Richard and Kate who did so much to help with the raffle, and every one else who worked to make it a success The figure was £610. 00 which beat last years total. So we will do our best to try and beat it next year which will be our 10th Anniversary of our Garden Party s. and our last one at Jennifer’s, so any ideas please let us know. We were delighted in September to have Dr Sam and his team from Rheumatology to come and give a talk which was very well attended, and members found most interesting.
I hope all the members have enjoyed the past years events. I would just like to say a Thank you all for supporting Rascals, and would like to Thank all the committee that have worked so hard with me to bring about all the events for this last year. The AGM is Thursday January 17th at 1.45 atWilliam Daly so I hope as many members as possible will attend. The Committee are prepared to restand, again, that is if you will have us.
One last thing I would like to wish Doreen and Alan Good Luck all our love and very best wishes when they move to their new home in Oxford in the Spring. For those of you who do not know Doreen was one of the Founder members of Rascals along with Dr Wojtulwski and 5 others members who started the group up way back in 1992. We have come such a long way since then. Sadly we have not seen much of Doreen over the past few years as due to her Rheumatoid and many operations. I would like to thank Doreen on behalf of Rascals and members for all the hard work she has done for Rascals. Thank You Doreen
It now just leaves me to wish you all a very Merry and Peaceful Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year.
